Man indicted for manslaughter in fatal N Austin crash

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — A Travis County grand jury has indicted a man on manslaughter and theft charges in connection with a fatal collision that killed a 49-year-old man last summer.

Markell Turner, 34, was indicted Dec. 22 on two felony counts related to the July 27, 2025, death of Islam Mossaad, according to the Travis County District Attorney’s Office.

The indictment alleges Turner “unlawfully acquired a juvenile’s phone, belt and watch,” then recklessly caused Mossaad’s death by crashing into him…
