LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A husband and wife were arrested after the husband allegedly attempted to stab a man outside a Haymarket bar last October.
On Oct. 20, 2025, around 8:35 p.m., Lincoln Police were dispatched to a parking garage, located at Ninth and Q streets, on the report of a weapons violation in progress. Upon arrival, the caller told officers that he had been chased by a man with a knife, causing him to hide in the parking garage.
The man stated that his friend, 27-year-old Susan Guffey, had asked him to meet at JJ Hooligans bar. He told officers that he met Guffey at her vehicle and began walking towards the bar when a man approached and began yelling and swinging a 1.5 foot-long machete-like blade at him, police said.
The man then chased the victim eastbound along P Street before the victim hid in the parking garage, according to the arrest affidavit…
