Cold start to Monday, sunny in the afternoon

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Jackets will be needed once again overnight as temperatures drop fast. After midnight, most of the area will fall into the 30s with lows ending up in the low and mid 30s. Frost is not expected as clouds remain overhead.

After starting out the day with cold temperatures, sunshine will help warm the area throughout the day. High level clouds will filter sunlight across the area. Highs reach the upper 50s.

We will likely see frost Tuesday morning as temperatures return to the 30s. There will be a brief warm up going into Wednesday…..
