Winter continues to stay on hold, mild air returning

After a chilly weekend, temperatures will finally begin to warm up as we head into the start of the workweek. Expect a cold start this morning, but sunny skies and southwest winds will help usher in a nice change.

High temperatures today will peak in the upper 50s to lower 60s, with no concern for rainfall.

Tuesday is shaping up to be the nicest day of the week. Mild air will remain in place, allowing highs to easily climb into the 60s. A few locations to the south may even flirt with the 70-degree mark.

Unfortunately, the warm weather won’t last. A cold front will sweep through Tuesday night, stripping away the mild air mass.

As the front moves through, it may squeeze out a bit of moisture. While significant precipitation is not expected, we could see anything from a brief sprinkle to a light shower. Rainfall totals should remain light, generally between 0.01 and 0.10 inches.

Behind the front, winter-like conditions return. Highs will be stuck in the 40s for the remainder of the week, with little to no chance of rain or snow…
