Residents of New Braunfels might want to start making room in their pantries. Comal County’s long-awaited first Costco is opening at 235 Kohlenberg Rd. in April, bringing approximately 158,000 square feet of party-sized charcuterie, giant tubs of peanut butter pretzels, and those famous $1.50 hot dogs.
Costco will anchor the ambitious 1,900-acre, $37 million Mayfair community, currently taking shape in north New Braunfels. The development will have amenities like a pool house, an 18-hole golf course, an elementary school, and a walking trail — not to mention plenty of Costco shoppers.
The warehouse club will be the first major retail anchor of the development with convenient gas pumps. Inside the store, shoppers will be able to purchase everything from designer sportswear to major appliances to oversized bottles of laundry detergent…
