The massive Loop 1604 North Expansion project is moving into a new phase with a major closure drivers should be aware of. Beginning Monday, January 12, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close the eastbound Loop 1604 exit ramp to O’Connor Road through April.
The closure, which is weather permitting, is needed to construct a new exit ramp and is part of Segment 5 of the long-term project, according to TxDOT.
TxDOT is encouraging drivers to follow the detour signage. If you’re driving on Loop 1604 going east and want to go to O’Connor Road, you can’t take your normal turn. Instead, you will need to get off early at Bulverde Road, then take the frontage road until it reaches O’Connor Road…
