Teen who shot up Coronado Mall parking lot sentenced to one year

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 19-year-old from Albuquerque will be behind bars for less than two more months after he admitted to firing off several rounds in the Coronado Mall parking lot. Last February, APD says Jabsie Lewis was in the passenger seat when he fired out the window towards Round One.

An empty truck was hit twice, once in the bumper and once in a window. Investigators used surveillance footage to track Lewis to his home, where he was arrested.

He pleaded guilty in August to shooting from a motor vehicle. In court on Monday, Lewis faced up to five-and-a-half years behind bars, but Judge David Murphy handed down a sentence of one year.

With time served, the 19-year-old is scheduled to be released in March…
