In a recent enforcement effort to heighten public safety, officers from the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, the Portland Police Bureau, and the Port of Portland Police, all serving on the Transit Police detail, orchestrated a high-visibility patrol along the MAX Yellow Line in North Portland. The social media announcement of the action detailed the swift results of the operation, capturing a suspect within mere minutes of its commencement.
Running through the woods off I-5, trying to escape the law’s grasp, the suspect was pursued by a deputy and PPB officers, finally being apprehended and taken into custody. Following this swift action, additional individuals found themselves on the wrong side of the law, including those in illegal possession of drugs and others caught tangled in the web of outstanding warrants. In trying to ensure rider safety, K9 units were also brought out to assist in the operation.
