Clark County man escapes vehicle before train crash

HARMONY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A Clark County man escaped a precarious situation Sunday and is alive to tell the tale.

The Springfield Patrol Post of OSP confirmed that troopers were dispatched to the area of Fletcher Pike at around 5:47 p.m. on report of a crash involving a vehicle and a train.

Upon arrival and an initial investigation, troopers determined that a Norfolk Southern train crashed into a disabled Dodge Ram 2500 that was parked along the railroad tracks. The collision sent the Dodge Ram about 100 feet off the southwest side of the roadway.

The driver of the Dodge had exited the vehicle prior to the crash. No injuries were reported…
