Man throws E-scooters off Nashville bridge into river, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man was arrested after he admitted to tossing electric scooters over the side of a Nashville bridge and into the river below early Sunday morning.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Metro Nashville Police Department, officers responded to the corner of Guthrie Street and Korean Veterans Memorial Boulevard just before 7 a.m. for reports of a man throwing something in the Cumberland River from the bridge.

They located 38-year-old James Handschy on 1st Avenue South near the Riverfront Dog Park, and he told the officers that he had thrown two electric scooters off the bridge, according to the affidavit…
