PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. — According to new data, homicides in Pulaski County have declined by 44% over the past three years. Prosecuting Attorney Will Jones announced that since he took office in 2023, the county’s murder rate has dropped from a historic high.
Jones credited the significant decrease to local police work, communication between prosecutors and law enforcement, and the creation of a specialized team of prosecutors focused on illegal drug trafficking and unlawful gun possession.
“These results are encouraging and demonstrate what is possible when law enforcement and prosecutors work together with a shared mission,” Jones said. “But no statistic can ever lessen the pain of a family who has lost a loved one to violence. Even one life lost is too many. It is critically important for a prosecutor to not only hold offenders accountable, but to use every tool available to prevent crime before it happens.”…
