OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Dream homes have turned into financial nightmares for two Iowa families, and they may not be the only ones. Hundreds of thousands of dollars paid to a builder has resulted in little progress or communication.
After a large down payment to an Iowa builder, Craig and Lori Thomas fear they’ve been left with a hole on a lot and in their bank account.
“It’s extremely disappointing to retire and move near your grandkids and then somebody takes all your cash and your dreams are kind of dashed at this moment,” said Craig Thomas, new home customer.
