ROCKFORD — City Council members on Monday approved a $250,000 grant to support Rockford Brake Manufacturing as it ramps up production of Gunite brake drums at its factory at 302 Peoples Ave. on the south side.
That measure was delayed a week ago at the request of Alderwoman Gina Meeks, who had questions about environmental issues with stormwater runoff at the property. She said Monday she felt confident that the issue was being addressed after discussion with staff and the state Environmental Protection Agency.
