Sweet Alaska honey now in Midtown Mall vending machine

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A new vending machine stocked entirely with Alaska-made products has been installed near the south entrance of Midtown Mall, giving shoppers an easy way to pick up locally produced honey, teas, candles and more.

907 Sweet Treats, the Anchorage-based company behind the machine, says the move is intended to make its products more convenient and accessible to customers while supporting small-scale beekeepers across the state.

“All of our honey is pulled before fall starts, because we need to leave the bees alone in their hives during the winter, so that way we don’t have to replace them later on. It’s just stored,” said Nick Heise of 907 Sweet Treats. “But we also work with other beekeepers around Alaska that are too small to go to market on their own, or they just don’t have the time to do it. So, we get the honey from them, and we sell it for them.”…
