AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – The U.S. Center for SafeSport is moving to permanently ban a former Aiken County teacher and soccer coach from coaching after a 12 On Your Side investigation revealed a relationship with a minor.
Ed Owens faces permanent ineligibility from coaching, according to SafeSport’s public website. The decision came down this month, two months after we first told you Owens received a temporary suspension.
The action stems from a relationship Owens had with a young woman that began when she was 17. The woman, now in her 20’s, came forward about the relationship this summer…
