COLUMBUS, Ohio — FTI Buyer, which operates BIDFTA online auctions, will permanently close its Cincinnati facility and lay off 104 employees in March, according to a state notice filed this week.
The company plans to shut down operations at 8485 Broadwell Road on March 6 citing operational improvements that make the facility unnecessary. FTI Buyer filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice with the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, which employers must submit at least 60 days before planned closures or mass layoffs.
“Throughout 2025, FTI made substantial strides in modernizing its operations,” Krissy Nicholson, senior vice president of strategy and administration, stated in the notice. “As a result of those improvements, our distribution network has become both more efficient and more decentralized, and the Broadwell Road facility is no longer required.”…
