Rock Hall guitarist from Cleveland hasn’t given up the funk

Since his debut as a teenage member of Funkadelic during the mid-70s, Michael Hampton has maintained a steady philosophy when it comes to making music.

“It’s just keeps on happening,” the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted guitarist, a Cleveland native, said by phone from his current home in southeastern Pennsylvania.

“I’m waiting for the next surprise, and I just hope for the best. I keep my head in it and go where people want me to play. I just bump around, and things start to evolve.”…
