A local business owner has partnered with Deep Creek Outfitters to highlight the Cape Fear River’s importance to Cumberland County by gathering volunteers for a cleanup in February.
Aaron Sweat, who operates Bottom Feeders Fishing Club with his friend Nick Jones, said Jan. 5 that the idea for the Cape Fear River Cleanup, set for 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 7, came about in December when he and Jones noticed trash along the banks.
