Trooper shoots driver who ‘produced a handgun’ after pursuit in Greensboro, highway patrol says

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Multiple agencies are investigating after a driver led troopers on a chase and reportedly displayed a gun before a trooper shot her.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, a trooper tried to initiate a stop on Vandalia Road near Randleman Road for reportedly going 61 mph in a 35 mph zone.

The car didn’t stop and the trooper pursued the suspect until a PIT manuever was used to stop the car. The suspect allegedly then “produced a handgun” and a trooper shot the driver…
