BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — The man law enforcement has been searching for after a shooting yesterday has been found dead.
According to the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, law enforcement officers “encountered” Thomas Mark Sharp Jr. in Burlington. He was found dead from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“There is no longer any threat to the public in this matter. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of the law enforcement agencies across the region who assisted with our search. To my knowledge, no law enforcement officials were injured in the search for Sharp,” Sheriff Joey Lemons shared in a release.
Sharp was wanted after allegedly shooting a woman on Monday in the Poplar Springs Road area of Madison. The victim, who was believed to be in a relationship with Sharp, was taken to the hospital by family…
