Update: Stanislaus board OKs four-way stop where young Camp Taylor volunteer died

Four-way-stop signs will be installed outside Camp Taylor, prompted by the death last year of volunteer Avery Millerick.

The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday morning for the upgrade at Grayson and Shiloh roads.

Millerick, 19, was killed in a collision with a semi-truck while leaving the camp for young heart patients June 21. Shiloh has stop signs but Grayson does not.

The project will cost about $15,000 and include flashing warning lights on Grayson about the new stops. It will be installed within three weeks, county Public Works Director David Leamon said by email…
