The Cranston Police Department has identified the pedestrian who was fatally struck by a motor vehicle in the early morning hours on Sunday.
The victim has been identified by the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office as Vaune Vacarro, age 56. Her last known address was in Utica, New York.
Investigators have learned that Vacarro’s relatives had not seen or heard from her in several years and described her as homeless and transient.
