FORT PIERCE — Donnie Lee Mullins Moore has two birthdays etched into her remarkable 90 years: Dec. 16, 1935, the morning she entered the world, and Dec. 10, the “official” date stamped on her birth certificate by a government that relied on memory in an era before hospital births were the norm.
“I went by the 16th my whole life,” Donnie says with a chuckle from her retirement community on Florida’s tropical island paradise, where “they love themselves some Donnie.”
Her daddy insisted on the 10th, and fixing the discrepancy at the health department proved too costly…
