Prairieville woman faces felony drug charges after traffic stop

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A Prairieville woman was arrested on felony drug charges following a traffic stop near Belle Rose on Friday evening, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Leland Falcon said a uniformed patrol deputy on the I.C.E. detail stopped a vehicle due to an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Laken K. Giambrone, 27, of Prairieville.

Deputies spoke with Giambrone and a passenger. Then, they asked for permission to search the vehicle, and it was granted. The sheriff’s office said that during the search, deputies seized a quantity of a legend drug attributed to the passenger, Bart J. Giambrone, 55, of Donaldsonville. He was issued a summons for one count of possession of a legend drug.
