The Madison Public Market Foundation on Monday released the names of seven confirmed vendors who will take up residency at the MPM’s 202 N. First St. location ahead of an anticipated soft opening in March.
The 45,000-square-foot year-round marketplace, decades in the making, will aim to support local entrepreneurs, offer a community gathering space and bolster the regional food economy.
The Madison Public Market is anticipated to support over 130 local businesses. The vendors announced Jan. 12 include:
- Cinn City Smash, which sells smash burgers, churros and fries, including vegan and gluten-free options;
- Cervato Wine & Tapas Bar, an extension of Timber Hill Winery, which offers Wisconsin-made wines and small plates;
- Ancestral Tribe Custom Apparel, a specialty apparel retailer that also sells natural body and hair care products;
- ArtWorking, a nonprofit arts and entrepreneurship program for artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities;
- Unique Hair Accessories & More, a company that offers natural body and hair care products;
- Love U Madison, which sells handmade home goods and offers DIY classes; and
- The Chowpati, a women-owned Indian street food business.
The MPM Foundation will continue merchant leasing leading up to the soft opening and beyond. Applications are still being reviewed…
