At the start of the new year, the weather in Arkansas has been very unpredictable, with temperatures going from cold to spring-like every week. It’s as if Mother Nature can’t make up her mind.
Driest Period on Record in the State of Arkansas Prompts Burn Ban
In addition, with not much rain over the last month and a half, local officials have imposed a burn ban for the potential risk of wildfires in Northwest Arkansas. The central parts of the state are also being affected, but just like a wildfire spreading, a portion of Southwest Arkansas is now included in the burn bans.
According to THV11, this has been one of the driest on record, with Little Rock taking 5th place as the driest of all time.
