A 36-year-old woman was found fatally beaten last Friday in a parking lot in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the 6700 block of South Western Avenue. She was discovered unresponsive just before 11:30 a.m. and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities initially classified the case as a death investigation.
Autopsy Finds Blunt Force Head Trauma
An autopsy later determined that she died from blunt force injuries to her head caused by an assault, and the case was ruled a homicide, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times. Officials have given the victim’s age as 36, but her name has not yet been released publicly.
