Forensic genealogy work helps identify remains of missing Native man

A Native man’s disappearance in 2020 was linked through DNA to human remains found nearly four years later.

Texas-based Othram, a company that uses forensic genealogy on human remains, has helped identify the body of Glenn Thomas Tate, Jr., a member of the Gila River Indian Community and the White Mountain Apache Tribe, who was last seen in Sacaton on July 22, 2020, the company said in a news release Jan. 12. Sacaton is in the Gila River Indian Community, which is in Pinal County.

The discovery may bring closure to those who wondered where Tate was, but it doesn’t yet shed light on how he was found dead in the community where he was last seen…
