Lexington, KY (Green River Media) – Riherds Scoreboard, the official scoreboard website for the KHSAA, has announced that it will be shutting down effective June 30, 2026, after the founder Frank T. Riherd gets diagnosed with ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease).
ALS, or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a disease in the nervous system that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which leads to loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time, and there is not cure for this fatal disease.
Since being launched in 1917, Riherd’s Scoreboard recorded statistics for over 650 thousand games, which represented almost 30 million points, runs, and goals. “Each of those points comes from a player competing as part of a team.
