Solano County jury awards $15.75M to family of senior who died in care center

Ruby Evans was a resident at Windsor Vallejo Care Center from Aug. 3-10, 2019. During her stay, the facility’s severe neglect resulted in the development of a painful pressure sore, according to the Evans’ family lawyers, Dudensing Law and Buckley Law. Additionally, the care center was accused of falsifying records about Evans’ health and concealing her condition from her family.

Evans died on Oct. 2, 2019.

A Solano County jury found Windsor Vallejo Care Center, the owner Lee Samson, and the corporate overseer S&F Management, responsible for the painful death of Evans. Her family was awarded $15.75 million; $12 million in punitive damages and $3.75 million in compensatory damages.
