I recently watched Nonnas on Netflix, and it sent me down a rabbit hole I was happy to fall into.
The movie tells the story of Enoteca Maria, a small Staten Island restaurant that began with Jody Scaravella and Italian nonnas, has since grown into something much bigger. What started as a way to honor Italian grandmothers has expanded into a rotating kitchen of grandmas from all over the world, each cooking the food of her home country.
I have never been there, but everything about it feels familiar in the best way.
