Clay town board to vote on Micron chip plant site plan

Clay, N.Y. – Just days before site work is expected to start, the Clay Planning Board is expected to vote on approving Micron Technology’s plans for a massive semiconductor plant off Route 31.

The board will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at Clay Town Hall to vote on Micron’s site plan for the project and a railroad spur that the company will use to bring stone aggregate to the site.

Micron has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony at the site Friday, marking the beginning of construction on a project the company says will cost up to $100 billion to build and create up to 9,000 jobs over the next 20 years…
