TOLEDO, Ohio — A University of Toledo medical resident training at ProMedica Toledo Hospital has been indicted on 16 criminal charges after a hidden camera was allegedly discovered in a private staff area at the hospital.
According to the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, Advait Deshmukh, a third-year medical resident, faces 15 counts of voyeurism and one count of tampering with evidence. The indictment alleges Deshmukh secretly recorded individuals over a span of several months in locations where people had a reasonable expectation of privacy.
ProMedica confirmed the device was found in June 2025. The hospital system said its internal police department launched an investigation immediately and identified a suspect the same day.
