An Odem-Edroy ISD student can say he is one of the best musicians in the state of Texas, as he has been selected for the Texas Small School All-State band.
On Jan. 10, the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) announced its selections for the 2026 ATSSB All-State band, and it includes Odem High School senior Benjamin Castaneda.
According to ATSSB director Kenneth Griffin, Castaneda is one of just 306 students from across the state to earn the honor out of more than 10,000 students who auditioned. Students competed in 22 regional competitions to earn their spot on the All-State band, according to a news release from ATSSB…
