Domestic violence suspect hit by train while fleeing police, NOPD says

A domestic violence suspect was hit by a train Tuesday afternoon in St. Roch while on the run from police, the NOPD said.

Police responded to a report of a domestic battery in the Seventh Ward at around 3:30 p.m. When they arrived at the scene in the 2500 block of St. Anthony Street, the 35-year-old suspect fled.

At around 4 p.m., NOPD located the man at the train tracks near Elysian Fields and Florida avenues. Police say a train struck his foot, and emergency medical services took him to a hospital…
