Nebraska – Wind snaps flags straight out this morning across eastern Nebraska, rattling windows and making the air feel sharper by the hour. The sky looks calm at first glance, but strong northwest winds are already reshaping travel conditions across the Omaha metro.

According to the National Weather Service office in Omaha, northwest winds with gusts between 35 and 40 mph continue today and into early Thursday. While snowfall remains limited for now, blowing dust and drifting snow from nearby fields may reduce visibility at times, especially in open areas west and north of the city…
