OMAHA, Neb — Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 D.J.’s Hero Awards Scholarships, which honor Nebraska high school seniors who have overcome adversity. The scholarships, named in memory of the late D.J. Sokol, recognize students for their commitment to others and their communities. A panel of metro-area civic leaders will select the honorees. This year, at least 16 scholarships will be awarded, with each recipient receiving $12,000 toward their chosen college or university.
