Vick’s Texas BBQ Truck Pulls Up Stakes On FM 1488

Vick’s Texas BBQ, a family-run food truck that parked along FM 1488 in Conroe, has shut down its regular service, the owners announced this month. The team said its last day at the FM 1488 spot was Jan. 1, and the truck will no longer operate on a regular schedule. They added that they will still take bookings for weddings, graduations, and other private events.

As reported by Community Impact, the business posted on social media that “The past two years have been extremely hard on small family businesses, especially food trucks.” The post said the owners are not selling their trailer or equipment and plan to continue doing special-event work. The Community Impact story was published Jan. 12.

Where the truck is parked

Online business listings show the truck operated from a lot at 2655 FM 1488 in Conroe, where customers bought brisket and classic barbecue plates. Map services such as MapQuest list the address and the truck’s profile, and the listing currently indicates the operation is closed at that location. Many local diners had praised the brisket and sides before the announcement.
