Guns, drugs and 18 dogs seized in Ford Heights raid

FORD HEIGHTS, Ill. (WGN) — Two men were arrested in Ford Heights after a search warrant in connection with a drug investigation led to the recovery of firearms, hunting bows, arrows, drugs, cash and more than a dozen dogs.

Cook County Sheriff’s Office’s Organized Crime investigators executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Deer Creek Lane on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Deputies say that drug sales at the location prompted the investigation.

Once executed, investigators say the search warrant yielded the following:

  • 6 firearms, including a ghost gun
  • 3 knives
  • 2 bows, a crossbow, and arrows
  • A machete
  • 32.5 grams of crack cocaine and 3 lorazepam pills
  • 18 dogs
  • More than $6,700 in cash
