A driver was killed when their vehicle went airborne, crashing through the expressway barrier wall on I-55 in Romeoville. The accident occurred during the early morning hours on Thursday, January 8, shutting down the northbound lanes of I-55 for hours.
Illinois State Police and the Plainfield Fire Department were called to the crash just before 4:00 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-55 just before Route 126.
