Four Oregon artists have been award $150,000 each in Fields Artist Fellowships, the Oregon Community Foundation and Oregon Humanities announced Tuesday morning, Jan. 13.
The money — awarded to Portland artists Amber Kay Ball and Talilo Marfil, Salem artist Yanely Rivas Moldonado, and Eugene artist Ernesto Javier Martinez — is spread over two years. At a time when federal money to artists and arts organizations has been sharply curtailed and in many cases eliminated, the grants will help the awardees concentrate on their projects.
