Albany woman accused of leaving dog to freeze outside shelter

MENANDS, N.Y. (WNYT) – An Albany woman is accused of leaving a dog to freeze to death outside an animal shelter.

Investigators said Brigitte V. Gaston, 62, left a box containing a small dog on the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s property in Menands. The Albany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shelter to find the 4-pound terrier mix.

The dog was in poor condition. Gaston did not make any effort to notify staff members who were inside the shelter at the time, investigators said…
