Updated NYS liquor laws expand eligibility for bars, recreation venues

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) —Bars and recreation spots in the Capital Region may soon have more flexibility to serve alcohol. New York’s updated liquor laws are giving local businesses new opportunities while keeping public safety in mind. News10’s Tyanna Xavier checked out one of those businesses who are interested in these licenses.

The business was Generation Axe Throwing in Albany. They offer entertainment for all kinds of events—from axe throwing to knife throwing. Jason Micary, the owner of Generation Axe Throwing says adding liquor could make guests feel relaxed.

“It adds to the experience. You’re having a beer and loosening up. You’re scared. You’ve never thrown an axe. You’ve never thrown a knife,” said Micary.
