Ohio doctor sentenced to prison for $14M healthcare fraud scheme

(WKBN) — A Lorain County doctor has been sentenced to prison for his role in a healthcare billing conspiracy scheme that was intended to fraudulently bill Medicare for more than $14.5 million.

A release from the Department of Justice states Timothy Sutton was sentenced to 64 months (5 years and 4 months) in prison by U.S. District Judge David A. Ruiz. He was also ordered to serve 3 years of supervised release and pay nearly $6 million in restitution to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
