4-15 inches of snow predicted across northern Ohio through Thursday evening

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A winter storm is bringing significant snowfall and rapidly falling temperatures to Cleveland and northern Ohio through Thursday evening, with winter weather advisories and lake effect snow warnings in effect across the region.

Snow will continue to spread across the area this evening as rain changes to snow behind a cold front moving through the region. Temperatures will plummet into the teens tonight with wind gusts up to 35 mph, creating hazardous travel conditions during the evening commute and overnight hours. Wind chills will drop to zero or below.

Cleveland and surrounding areas can expect 4 to 12 inches of total snowfall through Thursday evening, with the highest amounts in the higher terrain southeast of Lake Erie. The primary snowbelt in Northeast Ohio could see 6 to 15 inches, with some areas receiving more.
