ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Nine people have been arrested and accused of vehicle title fraud, Flowery Branch police said.
Police said Brandy Marie Pitts, 46, of Lavonia, and Susan Faye Palencia, 61, allegedly conspired with multiple car dealerships in Hall County “to facilitate the illegal registration and insurance of vehicles.”
The dealerships allegedly sold cars to unlicensed drivers. Unlicensed drivers cannot legally register vehicles, so the dealerships would direct them to Pitts and Palencia, who then charged them hundreds of dollars to register the vehicles under LLCs created by the pair…
