Woman pleads no contest to Grand Rapids shooting on west side

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — A woman pleaded no contest to a shooting that left one person injured on Grand Rapids’ west side in 2024.

Janai Battles, 34, was charged with assault with intent to murder, felony firearm and illegal firearm charges in the shooting. As part of a plea deal, she pleaded no contest to the charge of assault with intent to murder.
