2 men sentenced in Saraland machine gun trafficking plot

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two men, one from Mississippi and one from Texas, have been sentenced for machinegun-trafficking conspiracy, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Jothan Lee Sheperd, 36, of Lucedale, was sentenced to three months in prison, and Braxton Allen Hissong, 37, of Austin, Texas, was sentenced to time served plus a $2,000 fine.

Additionally, Shepherd was ordered to serve three years of supervised release, during which time he will be required to perform 300 hours of community service at Habitat for Humanity…
