Prichard teacher undergoes surgery nearly a month after dog attack

PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) – A Prichard elementary school teacher attacked by dogs nearly a month ago is undergoing surgery today after her bite wounds became infected, she told FOX10 News.

The attack happened outside Collins-Rhodes Elementary School and injured both the teacher and a nine-year-old student. Since the incident, questions remain about the dogs involved, which have yet to be located.

Prichard Animal Resources confirms the dogs’ owner was cited for multiple violations, including failure to provide proof of rabies vaccination and failure to properly quarantine the animals following the attack. Despite those citations, the dogs have not been found, raising ongoing public safety and health concerns within the community…
