A Wildwood man allegedly pointed a gun at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her.
Tyler Lucas Coffman, 27, who lives in the Inspire Homes development, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery and battery following his arrest Tuesday by Wildwood police.
The girlfriend went the home of Coffman’s mother and told her that her son had put a firearm to her head. The mother called law enforcement. The girlfriend told police that Coffman has been “calling her names, belittling her nonstop, and getting into verbal arguments recently.” He also hit her buttocks “as hard as he could.” The breaking point came when Coffman allegedly pointed a gun at her and said, “I could kill you right now.”
An officer found Coffman in the garage of his home on Mahogany Lane, within the Inspire Homes development. The officer recovered a black Generation 5 Glock 22 .40-caliber handgun from a backpack on Coffman’s motorcycle. The gun had a 15-round magazine inserted.
